Two Parents, a roadtrip and a Baptism
My roommate Derrick informed me the other day that he was to be baptized this coming Sunday, and asked me if I would like to attend. I just came back from a trip to Yosemite, in which I first flew down to SoCal, and then drove back up. So I have already been up and down the Valley, but I decided I would like to go anyway. My brother was going to go to Reno, so I thought I would bum a ride with him. The hitch - the car was already full. So I decided I would just ride in the back of the Explorer. Unfortunately, in informing my parents of the trip I implied (through my brother speaking) that there were enough seatbelts for everyone. Lying to get to a Baptism? Is something wrong with this picture? So, I ended up backing out of the trip - more or less without being a hypocrite. But I once again gained a world of respect for my parents. They trust my brother and I with nearly all of our decisions, bring up valid points in our myriads of schemes, and try to work with us when we want something. They are not blind in authority, and they never have been. I credit nearly all of what I have acheived today to their expert parenting. They have always been loving, supportive; critical only when warrented. The only fear I have is in trying to be a parent myself. Can I succeed as my parents have? Parenting is a tough job, and it only looks tougher the older I get. Hopefully it's a problem that's still a good deal in the future ;)

Whaddadillio?

Basketball
Played baskeball with some high school friends today. Hmm..... I don't like that term, 'high school friends'. As if I need to catagorize them because they're somehow different from my other friends. They're still my friends in every sense of the word. Anyways, I hung out with Nate, Dean and Gabe. Man was it hot! We only played two games, and we were all exhausted. But it was fun, and the last game got pretty competitive. I should do this more often, instead of sitting in front of my computer.

Ok! This is my first post, and I'm just trying stuff out to see how this all works. First of all, I can't find the title option, though I'm sure it's around here somewhere. This whole blog idea comes courtesy of Joan, so you can thank (or curse) her for what you find on this site! I will write here from time to time, hopefully on a daily basis, but probably not. I think this will be a great place for me to write all my thoughts and feeling for my trip this summer to Germany, which I am totally pumped up for! Anyway, that's it for the first post, more will come later once I get things figured out.home
